However, you are welcome to work from our farm while enjoying the countryside. There is currently no broadband connection in Nerur village yet, but there is a strong 4G mobile internet network. If you are retired and would want to remain for a longer period of time, please come with your friends and family as we have weekly and monthly packages available at very affordable rates. You might want to escape the bustle of the city and unwind in a village.

You can book for two nights and three days and comeback in a few months to enjoy the remaining activities.

We also accept one-night bookings from travelers who want to stop for the night and continue their journey the next day.

Do you accept last-minute bookings?

We do accept last-minute bookings, subject to availability. However, we highly recommend you to book at least one day in advance so that we can set the room for you properly and prepare for your meals.

Does the village have mobile/internet connectivity?

Vodafone, Idea and Jio networks (mobile and 3G/4G) are strong at our farm and most of the places in Sindhudurg district. There’s no network for any other mobile carriers.

Is there a laundry?

Laundry service available at chargeable bases. Our attendant will wash your cloths in the washing machine and will keep it for drying outdoor. Charges are Rs.200 only for max 5 Kg of dry cloths per wash.

What is it that you think we should be aware of the place?

Konkan Mazo is a get-away, a retreat, a place in the tranquil village called Nerur where you may forget about your worries and re-energize. This is the place to go if you want to get back to nature, relax, and restore your body in a rustic setting of beautiful Konkani villages having plenty of coconut, betel nut, mango, cashew trees and red-stone houses. The sounds of birds will wake you up and if you’re lucky, you’ll witness peacocks or hornbill birds around the cottage. During the day, you’ll probably sit outside with a cup of tea and take a stroll around the scenic village, and in the evening, you’ll definitely have a beer or glass of wine. In the winter, you’ll most likely light a campfire and relax. While the rain pelts the roof with vigour, unwind within. You’ll enjoy having monkeys lounging in front of your cottage.

Is parking available at Konkan Mazo?

Yes. Open carpark within the compound is available for free. 2-wheelers, cars and temp traveller buses can be parked at the farm.

What’s behind the name?

“Konkan” is the name of the western coastline of Maharashtra in India and in the Konkani dialect “Mazo” means mine. So when put together, Kokan Mazo means “My Konkan”. Our objective is to make Konkan every tourist’s getaway home, and hence the name “Kokan Mazo”.

What is the Night Forest Trail all about?

Adults 16 years of age and older who are capable of trekking on jungle trails are advised to participate in the Night Forest Trail experience. You have to climb a mountain in the dark while walking on an irregular path. You must adhere to the guidelines and follow the instructions of our guides. You are not supposed to make any kind of noise in the jungle as the wild animals may run away. If you’re fortunate, you might hear a tiger roar or get to glimpse a wild boar, porcupine (Salinder) or a wild rabbit.

To protect your body from the tree branches along the trail, it is advisable that you wear a loose full sleeve T-shirt, full jeans, and sport shoes. Please carry a headlamp or torch; without one, it is hard to proceed further because it is necessary to see your way in front of you. Additionally, bring a bottle of water, as you will need it on the journey.

We often begin the trail after dinner, about 9.30 to 10 p.m., and we finish it around 1 a.m. You will carry this wonderful experience with you back home.

Where does the water come from?

We’re a rural property and rely (solely) on underground well water. We encourage you to drink ground well water as it is full of rich minerals. However, if you don’t want to drink it due to any other issues, mineral and distilled water bottles are available at chargeable basis.

Can we bring pets?

We would love to have your pets on our farm. However, pets are not allowed inside the rooms. In case, you cannot make any alternate arrangement for your pets, we have a dog house wherein in you can keep your dog during night. During day time your pets can roam around the open area, but not allowed inside the cottages.

How the waste is treated?

Kitchen waste, grass and fallen leaves of the plants are decomposed in a compost pit. All the remaining combustible waste is burned to keep the area clean. We do not encourage our guests to use one-time-use plastic bottles, plates and bags.

What happens if I fall sick on the farm?

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help you and your family with any problems that may occur. We will call a doctor or will take you to the nearest clinic if you become unwell. The medical expenses shall be paid by the guests.
